Since the founding of New China, under the leadership of the CPC, the great history of poverty eradication in rural China has gone through four stages: the stage with the main objective of solving the root causes of poverty; the stage with the main objective of solving the problem of subsistence; the stage with the main objective of perfecting the system by which the first rich lead the latter; and the stage with the main objective of solving the problem of deep poverty. An overview of the history of poverty alleviation since the founding of New China shows that the leadership of the CPC is the political guarantee for the eradication of poverty. The eradication of poverty is a historical process, and after the battle against poverty, China will enter the post-2020 period, in which poverty control will move from the "crucial period" to a period of normalization. Therefore, under the overall leadership of the Party, it is particularly important to explore the establishment of a long-term mechanism for poverty alleviation. To this end, it should continue to adhere to the essential socialist requirements of common prosperity, adhere to poverty alleviation through development, improve the social security system,and combine comprehensive poverty alleviation with rural revitalization. At the same time, international cooperation should be strengthened to build a community of common destiny for all mankind with common prosperity.
